From Words to Meaning

WhatDoYouMean is an AI-native conversation understanding tool I designed and developed around a real problem I often experience: some conversations move faster than the audience's ability to fully process, remember, and respond. The app captures live audio, pasted text, or on-screen subtitles, then uses AI to turn messy language into concise meaning cards: facts, questions, decisions, proposals, requests, and action items. The goal is not to preserve every word, but to help the user understand what actually matters, with AI as an ambient interpreter.

Designing With AI, Not Around It

I designed the experience around what AI can uniquely contribute to everyday life: semantic compression, contextual interpretation, and timely support. AI is not placed inside the app as a chatbot; it becomes part of the interaction layer itself. While the user listens, speaks, or follows a meeting, the system quietly identifies important points, suggests possible responses, and turns conversation into something reviewable and actionable. As a designer, this was my way of exploring AI-native product design: products where intelligence is woven into the flow of everyday attention, rather than added on top of it.
